This policy explains how ser.md collects and uses data when people search for auto services, authenticate by phone, leave reviews, save favorites, or manage a business profile.

Phone numbers are used for authentication, security, support, and communications requested by the user.

Marketing messages are sent only where the user has given consent or where the law allows it.

Business owners can request access, correction, or removal of inaccurate profile information.

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to visitors, registered users, reviewers, business owners, and representatives of auto services listed on ser.md. The platform is operated as an online catalog for auto services in Moldova.

Data we may collect

Phone number used for OTP login, account security, support, and service communications.
Account data such as preferred language, favorites, authentication history, and basic technical identifiers.
Business profile data such as company name, services, prices, photos, addresses, working hours, phone numbers, websites, and social links.
Reviews and ratings submitted on ser.md, including the name or account used to publish them.
Technical data such as IP address, browser, device, session cookies, logs, and anti-abuse signals.
Public or third-party business information used to improve catalog accuracy, including data displayed from Google Maps or Google Places.

How we use data

To authenticate users by phone and protect accounts from unauthorized access.
To display and improve the catalog, search, favorites, reviews, business pages, and profile claiming.
To respond to support requests and communicate about account or business page activity.
To prevent spam, scraping, fraud, fake reviews, and other misuse of the platform.
To send promotional or advertising messages only with consent or another valid legal basis.

SMS and phone communication

Your phone number may be used to send OTP codes, security messages, important account notices, and support replies. Promotional SMS, advertising calls, or similar marketing communications are sent only with consent where required. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Sharing data

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate hosting, SMS delivery, analytics, security, customer support, and communication tools. We may also disclose data when required by law, to protect rights, or with the user consent.

Retention and rights

We keep data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, and legitimate business records. Users and business owners may request access, correction, restriction, deletion, or clarification of their data, subject to applicable law, including the personal data protection rules of the Republic of Moldova.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures such as HTTPS, access controls, logs, and limited internal access. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, or misuse.
